HAVANA, Cuba, May 25 (ACN) Lisandra Puentes won Cuba’s second gold medal in the U19 Modern Pentathlon Pan American Championships, held in Varadero Beach, ahead of the Mexican Ana Victoria Ramirez and her teammate Melissa Cabrera.
In the men’s event, the winner was the Mexican Israel Fuentes, followed by the Cubans Nelson Osoria and Karel Rosa, whereas the Mexicans Marco Antonio López and Tauset López finished first in the senior-junior category of each gender.
After seven days of competition in the internationally renowned resort, Mexico leads the medal table (8-3-0), followed by Guatemala (6-6-6), Panama (3-1-3), Cuba (2-10-8), Canada (1-0-1), Dominican Republic and Peru (both with 0-0-1) and Colombia (with no medals so far).
