INDULGE

Stepping inside this Niceville boutique is fun, with its soft, coastal décor and a little bit of glimmer and glam.

Opening in December, Darcie and Bob Fingers create a shopping paradise for women.

“We’re a boutique for everyone,” the wife half of the partnership said. “We carry sizes from extra small up to 2X or large — about a size 20.”

Indulge offers comfort with style, and Fingers understands her clients.

“Niceville is a small community, and nobody wants to see their twin in the grocery store,” she said, noting that Indulge showcases limited numbers and sizes over racks and rows of the same top.

The boutique also carries a variety of price points as well as age-range favorites.

The Not Your Daughter’s Jeans have a youthful style, but fit comfortably on mature women. At the same time, teens can find fashions and fits without looking like their mothers.

In addition to clothing, Indulge offers Sorrelli jewelry and a selection of Pandora; there are décor and gift items, too.

“We’re not done yet, by any means,” Fingers said. “We’ve got a lot of great brands coming in the spring.”

WILLOW’S WAY DOG TRAINING

Janessa Simmons understands dogs, and she understands how they interact with their people.

“I know a lot of people get pets for holidays,” she said. “Puppies are cute, but when they get big and jump on you, they aren’t as cute.”

Now, she added, is a good time to train both the canine and the humans.

Earlier this month, Simmons returned to offering her training after living away from the area. With extensive self-education and a natural affinity for dogs, Simmons provides private, in-home sessions for puppies ages 8 months up to older dogs of about 6 or 7 years.

“Sometimes people will have dogs that are reactive on walks,” Simmons said. “I can help with that.”

She also works with dogs who experience anxiety, and she assists owners in understanding and working with their dogs.

“I use positive reinforcement,” Simmons added. “I’m teaching the owner how to work with the dog to get the behavior they want.”

Based in Fort Walton Beach, Simmons will travel within a 30-mile range to meet pups and owners.
