Hummel will make three kits for Rangers a season over the next three years after the club agreed a deal with the supplier.

The Danish company were chosen by Rangers from more than 10 offers received by kit suppliers.

Hummel kits are famous for the chevrons that are generally on the sleeves and shorts, and they made strips for clubs such as Hearts and Tottenham in the past.

Fans will see the bespoke kits in action for the first time this summer in pre-season games and managing director Stewart Robertson expects supporters to be thrilled with the product.

He said: “We are delighted to announce that our new kit supplier from next season will be Hummel and we are sure the fans will love the design of the new shirts featuring the famous Hummel chevrons for the first time. We would also like to place on record our thanks to Puma for their support over the last few years.”

Hummel also make kits for Denmark, Middlesbrough and Freiburg among others, and CEO Allan Vad Nielsen said: “We are extremely proud to have been chosen as the new technical partner to one of the world’s oldest and most famous football clubs. Words can barely describe the level of excitement at our head office this morning when we announced this fantastic new partnership to our International staff.”

“At Hummel we pride ourselves in doing things a little differently by adding that extra twist and a bit of character to all that we do. Over the next 3 years we will endeavor to provide the players, staff and most importantly the supporters of this great club with an exceptional range of products both on and off the field and we look forward to joining you on your journey back to the top of the league.”

The new deal will see the majority of cash from kit sales go directly to the club, with Hummel the first suppliers since Rangers freed themselves from the crippling retail deal with Mike Ashley's Sports Direct last year.
